Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Maddy. Maddy had two younger brothers, Dodo and Bobo. Maddy loved them very much and they adored Maddy.

Dodo and Bobo shared a pet monkey. It wasn't a real monkey. It was a little plush monkey and they played with it a lot. It calmed them down in public and when they were getting their diapers changed.

One day, the monkey went missing! Maddy and her mom looked everywhere, but the missing monkey was nowhere to be found. The boys were crying really hard.

Maddy saw that her mom and brothers looked sad. She told them,"Don't worry. I know just what to do! I'll look for clues."

Maddy looked everywhere. She looked above the fireplace, next to her brothers, and on the window sill. She found nothing. She was getting frustrated.

She took deep breaths and calmed down. She continued to look. She looked under the couch and yelled. "Mom, I found something!"

Maddy ran to the kitchen to show her mom what she had found. She held up the slip of paper that said LIBRARY. "Oh yeah! We took a family trip to the library yesterday!" said Mom.

"We must have lost it at the library. Does that mean it is gone forever?" Maddy asked, starting to cry. Mom rubbed her back and said "No honey, we'll just look in the lost and found!"

"A lost and found is a place that people return things they have found and where people who are missing things go to look for them." Mom explained. "Why don't you take this map and head to the library?"

As Maddy was walking down the driveway, her mother called out, "Just remember, the library is next to the barn and across from the bakery!" With that piece of information, Maddy headed off to town on an adventure.

Once Maddy got to town, she noticed something peculiar. Some of the signs on the buildings were missing! There was only two signs and neither one of them were for the library.
