What is Poetry?
Acrostic
Cool summer days
Happen to be
Everyone I knows
Yearly day to
Eat very yummy
Noodles, and they are the
Nicest people to
Now knit scarves for
Every ones favorite kitty cat
Olive, who
Loves to
Tear apart our scarves.
Everyone is so disappointed.
Funyuns fall fabulously, and
Uncontrollably into my mouth and
Nicely dissolve like a bath bomb in water,
You can say they are like the smiling sun in my
Universe. People think funyuns are
Neat in the way they are
Shaped like an o.

SUMMER
The tree shall grow tall,
So high it can grab the clouds,
Its long branches spread.
SPRING
Fragile flowers grow,
It is as fragile as time,
Yet strong and graceful.
WINTER
Beautiful white snow,
Falls like rain on a calm day,
Quite, calm, yet alive.
FALL
Whoosh! The wind blows leaves,
Into the beautiful sky,
Blown into a leaf pile.
Onomatopoeia: Whoosh
Alliteration: Fragile Flowers
Simile: Falls like rain on a calm day

Winter, Summer, Spring, Fall BY:Cheyenne
Imagist
I took your
Favorite red ball
And lost it
It was so
Bouncy and
Round
Till it bounced
In the woods
Never to be found
The Red Ball
BY: Cheyenne
I have plucked
The flowers
You were growing
In the garden
And gave them
To grandma
I'm sorry
But she loved them
For their colors
Were bright
And festive

Personification with End Rhyme
No one knows,
What’s behind Angers mind;
Stuck in the shadows
He is blind,
To all the sunshine
For the world is kind;
Anger will yell, and try to sell
His mind, he can’t handle it:
The pain does not quit;
Anger is forced to deal,
With what he feels;
The Pain is so unreal
As he is mad
For he is perceived as bad
But no one what’s behind his eyes
So now he has said goodbye

Sonnet
Love is a river of emotions;
The Achilles’ heel to all that feel;
It is an explosion,
Of feelings you cannot steal;
The doves of love fly through the air;
Proud of what they represent;
They feel no despair;
Love can leave a dent;
A hole of loneliness that was once not there;
So don’t lose that feeling,
And just be aware;
That love can have a beginning,
But also an end that can tear you apart,
And leave a big empty hole in your heart;

Metaphor: Love is a river of emotions
Allusion: Achilles’ heel
Symbolism : The doves of love
