I would like to thank my cat Macen for letting me bug her!

The year is 2022. Cheyenne just returned from her 9:00 run and walked in the door sweaty and tired. She was greeted by her cat Macen with a gleeful “meow!” Little did Cheyenne know the world she lived in was about to change… Time change 20 years into the future.

"Hey, baby Mace!" Cheyenne said gleefully. "I'm going to hop into the shower." Macen laid her head down as if approving of what Cheyenne was saying. Cheyenne gets out of the shower and climbs into bed, exhausted from her workout. Mace jumps up and snuggles in next to her head. Cheyenne sits up and gently kisses Macen on the head before laying her head down. "Goodnight, baby Macen coo, see you in the morning," she said before dozing off to sleep.

Cheyenne wakes up the next day and goes to the bathroom to brush her teeth as Macen lazily follows. "I feel different somehow," Cheyenne says with a mouth full of toothpaste. Macen jumps down off the counter and heads over to the sliding door. Cheyenne finished getting dressed when she heard, "what in the world!" Cheyenne, startled, looks out and notices Macen is the only one in the room. Confused, she steps out and walks cautiously towards macen. "Macen?" She says when Macen turns around and blankly says, "what, mom." Soaked, Cheyenne Picks Macen up quickly and exclaims, "You Can Talk!" Macen folds her ears back in confusion "you can understand me?" "Yes," Cheyenne says. Macenquickly jumps down and runs to the window. "Have you seen outside, mom?" Cheyenne looks at the cat and then at the window as she slowly approaches it. She moves the curtain and is astonished by what she sees. Cheyenne's jaw drops as she slowly studies the flying cars that have appeared in the sky overnight. "Macen, I think we're in the future!"

“Who are you,” a voice behind the girls says. A voice Cheyenne recognizes. As she turns around, “Dad?” she says cautiously as she studies the wrinkles and lines on his face that had not been there the night prior. His hair is grey, almost silver. “It’s me, Cheyenne!” “your daughter,” Macen pipes in. Dad's eyes turn towards the cat and then back at Cheyenne, “Nonsense,” he says, “Cheyenne lives in New York City and is quite older than you, young lady.” “Now off with you and your cat!”
Startled by her father's reaction Cheyenne and Macen turn away but not before noticing a familiar but slightly aged face in the window, "Mom," she whispered. Cheyenne noticed that mom looked at her face as if she knew who cheyenne was. Yet her face was also telling her to go out and explore this strange new world.
