Corners
1.Teacher will post answers in each corner of the room
2.Teacher will ask a question and the students will go stand in the corner they believe is correct
3.Students in the same corner will collaborate
4.One student from each section will share reasoning
5.Repeat process until all of teachers questions are answered
*Use for review or comprehension check. Encourages collaboration skills.

Literature
Circles
1.Put students in groups of 4-5
2.Give each group an appropriate text to read
3,Have each group read a chunk of the text
4.Once read each group will discuss the text in a lengthy conversation
5.Teacher will go around a visit with each groups discussion
*Use this during a literature lesson. This will help students develop comprehension skills along with conversational skills.

Scavenger Hunt
*This is an icebreaker activity. Helps students get to know one and other.
1.Pass out scavenger hunt paper to the class. Each hunt option contains a fact about somebody
2.Give students 10 minutes to walk around and find a person to fit inside each box
3.Only one person per box
4.Students must ask the question about the person. Do not hand them the sheet.

ESCAPE
ROOM
*This can be used as review or a comprehension check in. Promotes quick thinking a teamwork. Works best with older grades.
1.Set up classroom with a series of clues regarding subject
2.Leave a note dropping a few clues and hints. Inside the note say they have 1 hour to escape
3.Leave the room ( Stay next door or somewhere close for safety purposes)
4.Let students solve the puzzle as a class.
5.Come back in five minutes early to give any needed assistance or wrap up.
