We live in Bodrum.

Bodrum is a port city in Muğla Province, in the  Aegean Region of Turkey.  

Today we will talk about the local issues of Bodrum, which hopefully will be solved and improved in the coming years. 

As the young generation who live in Bodrum, we care about our unique city that needs to be protected and valued.

Bodrum is a splendid place with it’s culture and history. However, our history is not protected at all. And it’s a huge problem for Bodrum.  A lot of historical structures, jewels were stolen such as The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus.  There are still some below-ground historical structures like the hippodrome.

Bodrum’s population keep increasing because of the pandemic and it causes traffic congestions and accidents.

I think the main reason of this traffic issue in Bodrum is overpopulation. Overpopulation causes the traffic with a lot of cars. Almost every person owns a car and this is unnecessary. People should use the public transportation more often and they should help to reduce traffic a little.

Why does every person owns a car in Bodrum?!

Why do so many people want to live in Bodrum? For me, the only solution is not letting a lot of people come to Bodrum. Or not letting them move here.

One of the biggest problem of Bodrum is road construction!  The poor quality roads in Bodrum make drivers have a hard time.  In this district, where there is abundant rainfall during the winter months, the rain and especially the trucks working on construction sites, caused further deterioration on the roads that were already in bad condition.
