
Rich and multicultural, Romanian Christmas food is a temptation for anyone with an appetite for large and succulent portions with meat as the almost omnipresent main ingredient. As Romanian people make a feast of all major religious celebrations, food is bound to be abundant and delicious.

Julfa with hemp mousse
Ro: julfă cu cremă de cânepă
This traditional dish is the kind of desert that your grandma would make, but unfortunately it is very hard to find in restaurant menus, mainly because it’s not very good looking, is time-consuming to make, and hemp seeds are nowadays quite expensive.
It is prepared a few days before Christmas and eaten only on Christmas Eve.

Ingredients:
flour, water, salt, oil, hemp seeds, sugar
Process:
- make a dough from water, flour, salt and oil and spread it in 10 thin sheets (or more);
- bake each sheet in the oven until dry and stiff;
- grind the hemp seeds, mix with hot water and collect the foam;
- after cooling, fill the dough sheets with hemp foam mixed with sugar;
- let it rest for at least two days for all the moisture of the cream to be absorbed.

Cinderella is one of my favorite cakes my mom made, and I wanted to share the recipe with you

for Cream:
1 l milk
200 g sugar
3 chocolate pudding
200 g dark chocolate
300 g butter
Ingredients:
for 4 layers
2 eggs
180 g sugar
180 ml milk
140 ml oil
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon lemon juice
30 g cocoa
600-800 g flour

Process:
Mix eggs with sugar, milk and oil for about 5 minutes, then add the baking soda quenched in lemon juice or vinegar, cocoa powder and flour. Add the flour until you get a dough that no longer sticks to your hands. We weigh the dough obtained, then divide it into 4 parts.
Wrap each ball of dough in cling film and let it rest at room temperature, then spread each ball of dough on the baking layer , prick with a fork from place to place and put in the oven and bake it.
cream: boil the pudding, add the chocolate and wait for it to cool. We mix the soft butter at room temperature a little and over it we add 1 lg of chilled cream. Divide the obtained cream into 4 and grease each layers.

Sweet bread

Cozonac is a classic, simple, sweetened yeast bread with origins in Romania. Traditionally made during Easter and Christmas, this citrus-scented sweet dough is twisted around a nutty filling, creating a spiral design when baked.





Ingredents
1 kg of flour
50 g fresh yeast or 14 g dry
350 ml (max. 400 ml) warm milk
250 g sugar
4 eggs
150 ml of oil or 100 ml of oil and 100 g of melted butter
3 sachets of vanilla sugar or two teaspoons of extract or core from a vanilla pod
grated peel of 2 lemons and an orange
15 g of salt (weighed!)
Filling:
300 g colored Turkish delight
150 g ground walnuts
100 g sugar
50 g cocoa
Extra:
1 yolk
50 ml milk
Moldovian Stew
( Tochitură Moldovenească )

There is nothing like the famous Moldavian stew, and there is no exaggeration in saying that this is the ultimate Romanian dish, as it combines the best traditional foods Romania has to offer
It's Romania on a plate!

Process :
- Cut all the meat into small pieces
- Heat the oil and brown the meat
- Boil the four eggs
- When the meat is browned , add the sausages and spices
- Put one egg in each plate over the meat and cover with grated cheese

Homemade Chocolate

Ingredients:
-powdered milk
-cocoa
-sugar
-water
-butter
-peanuts
-nuts
-pistachio
-raisins
Process:
1. We sift the powdered milk and cocoa powder into a bowl.
2. Next, we make a syrup using sugar and water leaving it to boil for about 5 minutes, then we proceed to add butter.
3. We add the powder mixture into the syrup.
4. After, we mix everything together ,we add the raisins , hazelnut and walnuts.
5. Once we finished the chocolate mixture ,we put it in molds and then in the fridge until it hardens.
