Jiya Patel is a high school student who enjoys the world of books and literature. Jiya is inspired to educate children through the power of books. She looks forward to writing many other books about environmental issues. She hopes to implement the ideas from these books into classrooms and turn them into learning projects.

Accepting and even embracing the imperfections in our food is essential to combating environmental waste. Rather than discarding produce for minor flaws, we should recognize that these imperfections don’t affect its purpose. Accepting food that doesn’t meet cosmetic standards allows us to contribute to the health of our planet. By following the adventure of Bogo the Bear and Scout the Squirrel, children are able to acknowledge and gain awareness of everyday food waste through imperfections that influence our environment.
