Hi! My name is Phineas and I'm planning on running for President.

Today I'm 36 years old, making me one year older than the presidential age minimum.

This is my town where all my friends and I live. We have been planning and raising money for my campaign for 4 years now. Meet my team

Hi I'm Fred, campaign manager
Hi I'm Piggy, head of communications
Hi I'm Alex, speech writer

Hello everybody. My name is Phineas and I will be running for the democratic nomination for the 2024 election!

Yay!!
Phineas starts his journey by traveling all across the country. He talks to people, makes speeches, and overall forms connections with different people to gain support for his campaign. This first stage is part of the primary elections. Phineas' goal is to gain as many delegate votes, as well as secure the popular votes. The delegate votes come from representatives, and when someone from either party gains the most delegate votes, the get the nomination for their party's presidential nominee.

Phineas is participating in the primary elections. Primaries occur when people from the same party with similar ideas form a group and give their votes to candidates. They give their votes based off the discussions during caucuses, and then they elect the final candidate for the presidential nomination.
There are two types of primaries: opened and closed.
Closed primaries are more restrictive than open primaries. In a closed primary, you must vote or the candidate in your party.
Open primaries allow voters to cast votes for candidates who are outside the voters registered party.
Caucuses are the other way of casting a vote. Voters gather and discuss candidates and then cast their vote.
