Geography

Geography consists of Latitude and Longitude. Latitude tells you how far East or West you are while longitude tells you how far north or south you are. These lines are invisible so you can't actually see them. Each point where the lines cross has a certain set of numbers.

Economics

One of the parts of Economics is Natural Resources. Natural Resources are the materials we use from nature to make things we need. Examples of them are animals, plants, and water. The other part is economy. Economy is the system in which people make, trade, and use things that have value.

Government

The Government decides what a country does. Their goal is to protect everyone and keep them safe. They also protect peoples rights.

But in a Dictatorship only the person in charge can say what the country does. That is why all these people are fighting. The ruler doesn't care about any of the people except himself.

Culture

Culture is the way of life of a group of people. Some parts of culture are, food, clothing and religion. Some cultures are spread around the world and even get mixed together. All cultures have languages so they can communicate to the other people in their culture.

Religion

Religion is the worship or belief in a spirit or God. The five major world religions are Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. These religions have many common traits. They treat one another fairly and celebrate important holidays, places, and times. Christians go to church in a building like you see here.

River Civilizations

The three River Civilizations we learned about were Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Indus Valley. Ancient Egypt was found on the Nile River and they had great farming land. Mesopotamia was found in Southwest Asia. They invented Hammurabi's Code. The code had 282 different laws. The final civilization is Indus Valley. Indus Valley was found in South Asia and had advanced cities.
