Definitions:

Compass: An instrument containing a magnetized pointer which shows the direction of magnetic north and bearings from it.

Republic: A group with a certain equality between its members.

Ethnocentrism: Evaluation of other cultures according to preconceptions originating in the state of one's own culture. 

Population: The amount of people live in a certain area.

Geography

Natural resources: Coal, trees, wind, and water.

Earth's Population:

Around 8 billion people

America's population

333.3 Million people

Traditional Economy:

~Men and women have different roles.

~No Technology

~Farming and gathering.

~Non developed countries.

Market Economy:

~Resources owned and controlled by individuals.

~ Determines supply and set prices.

~supply and demand.

~People compete for profit.

Economics

-GDP: Measure of all goods and services produced in a country in one year.

-GDP per capita: GDP divided by population; average amount of money made per person.

-Standard of living: Measurement of  country's education, housing, health, and nutrition.

Government

Government is an organization that sets up and enforces laws. One type of government is Direct Democracy. This is a form of government where all adults take part in decisions by voting on every issue.

Another from of government is republic. This government is run by representatives that citizens vote for. The last form of government is a monarchy. In this, there is an emperor, but they don't have all power.

Culture

Culture is the way of life of a group. Ethnocentrism leads people to think of their culture as better that other's. In cultures, there are different places of worship. In a place of worship, groups study. Cultural diffusion is the movement of customs and ideas. All cultures have their own language to communicate.

Religion

Religion is the belief in worship of a superhuman power or powers, especially a god or gods.

River Civilization:

     Egypt     

Ancient Egypt formed around the Nile Valley in Northern Africa. The Nile flooded every summer, creating fertile soil for farming, because of this, they found ways to control the flooding.
