This is the first electronic book produced by my two granddaughters and I.
What impresses me most is that after reading some brief notes and watching a short video, my 12-year-old grand-daughter managed to use the basic functions of creating a digital book via “the story-jumper”. She even taught me how to produce a page by myself!
The final product is far from perfect, but we have enjoyed the process very much. I strongly encourage my “senior friends” to walk out of their comfort zones and learn new things to keep abreast with the latest technology.
I would like to thank my daughter who provides insight and feedback to make this book more enjoyable; and to my son-in-law for his skillful and technical support. I would also like to thank my wife for her continuous support throughout the production of this book.

“I try to get my children to FaceTime my parents, but they have run out of things to say.”
"The hardest thing about moving away is how to keep the bond for the grandchildren and grandparents.”
With the recent mass emigration, these are some of the biggest concerns of my friends who, reluctantly, have moved away from aging parents (the grandparents) who have played a big role in the lives of their young children (the grandkids).
Having relocated to Toronto for over 8 years, I am both grateful and blessed that my 70-year-old father is a lifelong learner. For the past 8 years, he has learnt how to stay in touch with my children on a weekly basis through online games, social entertainment, Duolingo, and now, this online book. They continuously have new things to talk about, my daughter even claims that ‘gong gong’ is her best friend.
I just want to encourage those who are seeking creative ways to stay in touch with family who remain in Hong Kong to never give up and make communication their top priority.
This book is only the start, I look forward to many more to come! ~Bonnie Tam

( In Cantonese)
早晨,你好嗎?⋯⋯再見!
(In French)
Bonjour, comment allez vous? ⋯⋯ Au revoir.

( In Putonghua)
早安,您好嗎? ⋯⋯ 再見!
(In German)
Guten Morgen, wie geht's?
......... auf wiedersehen!

It's never too early,

and never too late,
to learn new languages!
