The Meeting of the Estates General
The meeting of the estate general took place in Versailles. The meeting of the estate general also marked the start of the French Revolution. It was an assembly representing the French estates of the realm summoned by Louis XVI to propose solutions to Frances's financial problems. It also ended the privileges of the clergy and the nobilities. The meeting of the estate general involved the clergy, nobility, and peasants. The national assembly responded by moving their discussions to the Tennis Court Oath. The estates general failed and the first steps of the French Revolution had been taken.
The Storming of Bastille
The storming of the Bastille took place in Paris. It was a state prison known as the Bastille. It was attacked by an angry mob. The prison had become a symbol of the monarchy’s dictatorial rule. The event became one of the defining moments in the French Revolution. It was a dramatic start to the French Revolution. In addition, it was destroyed because people needed guns and weapons and that’s where it was stored.
The Women's March
The Women’s March took place during the first stage of the French Revolution. It was organized by women in the marketplace of Paris. They complained about the high prices of bread. They also designed the palace and forced king Louis XVI of France to return with them to Paris. The Women’s March ended France’s absolute monarchy and ushered in a short-lived period of constitutional monarchy. Over 7,000 Parisians led by market women were involved. Lastly, they marched to the royal city of Versailles demanding bread and political reforms from the kings.
