

Gandhi was on his way to India for a meeting and he was questioned for being in the first class and got kicked off the train for his color. The people who worked on the train claimed there were no government attorneys and told Gandhi to go back to third class. Gandhi was arguing with them and the workers didn't like that so they threw him and his stuff into South Africa.

A man named Khan wanted everyone to burn the government passes but the guards saw and took him away to jail. In South Africa, the passes were identification cards. You're required to have them. Gandhi grabbed all the passes to start burning them and finish the job for Khan. He was beaten by the guards in front of everyone.

India is very poor. A lot of people in India had barely any money to survive. People, including kids, work to make money and stay. In India, people were also living in Ashrams.

Because Gandhi got arrested the British and Indians were fighting and the Indians were protesting. The British made it a new law to not protest but the Indians didn't know that was a law. So on the day of fasting and prayers, the British saw them gathered up and claimed they don't need a warning before they fire because they already knew and had their earnings. The British started shooting and killing hundreds of people.

Protesters
The protesters started to get beaten by the police, but all the protesters out-numbered the police so they started beating and killing them police. Gandhi ends up going to jail for 3 years, and he also goes on a hunger strike to stop the fighting and madness of India.

March to sea
The march to the sea happened on the anniversary of the Amritsar Massacre and it was to prove that the British did not control India and that they would stop acting as they did. The police started beating all the Indians and were told to leave so they all ran off.

Aftermath of lndepnce
After the independence, there were many riots and fighting between the Hindus and the Muslims. Gandhi goes on multiple hunger strikes to stop all the fighting again. Nehru becomes the Hindu leader and Indian prime minister, while Ali Jinnah becomes the Muslim leader and Pakistan's prime minister.
