This is dedicated to those in India who had to suffer through great hardships and cruelties.

The Train:
On June 7th of 1893 a young Mohandas Gandhi is traveling in South Africa by train when he is thrown from the train by two white men. The men who threw him from the train simply did it because of his ethnicity. Claiming that it was a "whites only train" and that he shouldn't be with first class coach. Gandhi refused to go because of this erroneous act and therefore they threw him off the train.
The Burning:
In 1908 on august 16th Gandhi showed an act of defiance against the British by burning their registration passes. A group of people gather watching Gandhi and his friend burn the passes. The "officers" start beating Gandhi with their batons. Gandhi keeps burning the passes and showing resistance but is soon knocked out and taken to jail.
Poverty in India:
India was a poor country and was controlled by the British. Gandhi takes a train and visits the outskirts of India to see what its really like. He finds horrible things, Indians put at gruesome labor, death among death, and just a great disbelief of how they live and work. Gandhi had said that, " this poverty is a moral collapse of society." he also noticed that the farmers and workers didn't get paid for their crops and they couldn't pay rent either. This made living conditions worse.
Amritsar Massacre:
On April 13th, 1919 there was a peaceful protest formed by the Indian people who were upset about the British and their rule. There was at least 10000 people gathered for the protest. It was described as "Peaceful and non violent". General Dyer ordered his men to block off the exits and then to open fire on the people, no warning shots. There were 1516 casualties and 1650 bullets were used. Many were killed and injured. Men, women, and children.
Police Killed / Gandhi Fasting:
Gandhi called for a general strike and he wanted to show that the British couldn't control them. He proposed to burn clothing brought from the British and make their own. Then later during protest they started to cause riots that became violent. One in particular got police killed. In response, Gandhi when on a hunger strike and fasted. The people loved Gandhi to much that they stopped violence so Gandhi would eat.
