In 1908 during a small protest, Gandhi and a group of other Indian people burned their passes. These passes were only enforced for Indian people not the British. The British police dislike this and arrest anyone who burns their pass. As Gandhi puts them in the fire he is beat.

At the factory protesters line up and try to enter in groups. Each time they are beaten, yet they persist peacefully. The British later call Gandhi to discuss independence for India, because they look like international jerks.
