Canada is located on North America, North/East of the United States.
It is 3,855,101 square miles (9,984,670 square kilometers) in size.



History:
Before North america was colinized there were many different Native peoples (Inuit, Innu, Beothuk, Mi’kmaq, and Malecite groups) many of which still exist today.
Colonized by,1st, Vikings, 2nd, Fishermen (1500s), and 3rd, French (1600s) in "New France".
In 1763 the Treaty of Paris gave Britain control over New France, which was renamed Quebec. Canada was given legal autonomy in 1931, but did not obtain full Independence until 1982.

Culture:
Canadian employees require a minimum of two weeks vacation time per year. They have two main national sports, lacrosse (summer) and Ice hockey (winter)
Similar entertainment activities to in the US (Common recreational ice-sports: skiing, ice skating)




Food:
The food has a French influence, and their staple foods/food products include poutine (fries covered with gravy and cheese curds) and syrup. They commonly eat potatoes, red meat, sea food

The western pallet is increasing in diversity, including an increase in ethnic (especially Asian) dishes.


Language:
They have two national languages, being English and French. In Quebec they speak French exclusively. Overall there are 75+ spoken languages, with 1/5 people speaking other languages. The words vary between US and British spellings.


Religion:
67% of the population are Christian, mainly Catholic (39%) and Protestant (20%). They also have people who practice Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Judaism. Canada has the largest Sikh population outside of India, 1.4%).

Economy:
The GDP (OER) in billions is $1,741.87, and the GDP (PPP) per capita is $45,900. As a result they have a high standard of living for most of their residents.
Their Currency is Canadian dollars, loonies (one dollar coins) toonies (two dollar coins).
