It was a nice Thursday on March 1st, 2018. It was a special day for me because it was my 11th birthday, a day that I got to skip school with 3 of my friends to go to Camelback Lodge and Resort while my classmates were stuck in school for two days! Cool right?

Well, This story isn’t just me telling you how much fun I had with my friends, because that would be a pretty boring story, probably make you a little jealous too. I’m going to tell you the story of how my birthday went from great, to amazing, to upsetting all in days.
I woke up the day of my birthday, ecstatic because I knew my friends Sal, Caden, and Eddie were going to go to Camelback and spend the night there with me. My Mom gifted me the trip for Christmas, so I couldn't wait to go for months.

We picked up my friends from their houses and off we went for hopefully one of the best couple days of our lives. After what felt like the shortest hour and a half of driving we were there.

The first thing we did after we unpacked was we went snow tubing, which was lots of fun because it was 60 degrees out. “I'm so cold” Sal complained. “It’s sixty degrees out and you're complaining that you’re cold Sal?” After about one more round of tubing, we went to the indoor waterpark.

The waterpark was amazing, but after the first 5 minutes of being inside the water park called Aquatopia, I hit my head on the bottom of the wave pool. It felt like a chicken laid an egg on my head and it went through my skin. It was throbbing. My Mom went to the medical center and got ice for me. I thought, “what a start to my birthday”.

OWWWWWWWWWWWW!
A couple minutes later though, my Mom bought me ice cream for my headache. It didn't really help my headache, but it made me stop thinking of the pain. After I recovered, we went on some water slides.

“Ahhhhhhhhhh! THIS IS AWESOME!” We all yelled.

After we went on each ride about 5 times each, I went back to the room alone because I was getting really tired and I wanted to rest up before we went to the arcade.

When I woke up, everyone was in the room waiting for me.

We all went to the arcade and of course after about two minutes of being there, Caden yelled “JACKPOT! LET’S GOOO!”

WOOOHOOOO!

We ended up getting a lot of tickets and we bought lots of stupid things we really didn’t need, but we found a way to make our prizes worth our while.

We went back to our rooms to end our amazing day of fun, and turned on the tv to chill out before bed.

We saw on the news that we were going to get a little bit of snow, but not too much. The only thing we forgot was that we were in the poconos and they got almost double the amount of snow there.

Lots of snow tomorrow to the left, a lot to the right but not as much
We woke up the next morning with not even an inch of snow on the ground. We had our checkout at 12:00 o’clock, so we started to pack up to head home. We saw it was snowing outside in the lobby when we were waiting for the valet to get our car.

It was cold outside when we put our stuff in the car and we could see from under the roof above us that it was a white out. Just like that we couldn’t see a thing. We started to move out and we saw a lot of traffic even trying to get out of the park. Looking back, my Mom said that was the scariest drive she’s ever driven, but back to the story. Every car we saw had its hazard lights on, so we decided to turn the car around.

“This is a birthday miracle!” I said to my friends. “All of our friends are stuck at school while we are stuck at an Indoor waterpark! WHAT A TRIP!” exclaimed Eddie.

We were so excited to be stuck at a waterpark instead of at school. “Let’s go boys, we have to find a room to stay at now.” said my mom. The front desk said that it might take a while to find us a room because a lot of the rooms were already booked, so we hung out in the water park.
