

Blooms Taxonomy
I used to think Blooms Taxonomy was just something minor that went at the beginning of the lesson because it was enough for my lesson plan

But now I know that it is the foundation of my lesson plan and is ultimately what my lesson plan revolves around and helps me to increase a level of understanding for myself as an educator. I struggled to grasp this idea and eventually understood why it was necessary in my lesson plan and will use it for future lesson plans in my teaching career.
Visible Thinking
I used to think I knew enough for my fourth graders and that my knowledge on these routines was enough to get me by in my teaching career


Now I think, Visible Thinking Routines helps me understand my students individually and allows me as an instructor to identify my students struggles and where I can come in to help. What might work for one student might not work for another and thats okay! That's where i come in and help. I can now implement different routines to assist my students individually and meet their needs effectively
ISTE*S and Technology Integration
I used to think ISTE*S was just another form of standards that were implemented during instruction time but weren't tested


but now i think, they are just as important as content standards and they correspond with content/subject area and grade level. I learned that these standards engages student learning and assists with technology usage within the lesson plan. I can implement this to choose the right lesson for my kids and can guide my students to develop an understanding on using this skill within the classroom

Assemssment and Objectives

But now i think, they must coincide with one another, in order to meet the objective there must be assessments given within the lesson during the time you are teaching. Without this, you are losing vital time to assist students who are having difficulties with the lesson. You are also able to verify that an objective was achieved. Since i now know this, i can begin to implement various assessments to help understand my students more and assist them if any difficulties may arise.
Lesson Procedures
I used to think this was just an outline of what would be done throughout the lesson and formed as a script of what the students would be doing with little to no teacher involvement
I now think the teacher has alot of involvement within the lesson procedures because i am creating an outline of what the lesson will look like, how long each objective will take, and how i can ensure my students are effectively gaining the knowledge needed to move onto the next lesson.
Google Productive Tools and
Visual Storytelling
i used to think google productive tools were mostly used in a corporate setting due to the difficulty of the lesson. I used to think that visual storytelling wouldn't be effective for older kids due to them emerging into a reading level that requires little to no visuals.
But now i think they should be used in an academic setting due to the various features incorporated that can assist me in studying. I can now effectively use these within my daily life easily from just the click of my phone, from creating quizzes for my students in forms to creating google slides that take a matter of minutes to create. Now i think, Students can use this tool to create projects or short stories as a fun interactive opportunity to to demonstrate their understanding on a subject. This also helps students from different grade levels to engage in conversation about the topic, no kid is too old for a good visual story!
