Education is a combination of growth and human development with social legacy( Kohnstamm and Gunning, 1995).

Online education/learning is done when students use various internet-connected devices to study synchronously or asynchronously and communicate with instructors and classmates (Singh & Thurman, 2019).

Platform for Online Education: ZOOM

Zoom is one of the most common and reliable platforms for online learning. Zoom is a video conferencing tool, which allows instructors and students to meet virtually with the purpose of getting and giving knowledge. This virtual meeting can be recorded for future reference (Carnegie Mellon University, 2024).

At the end of the year 2019, there were only 10 million daily participants, who used Zoom, but this number largely increased to 300 million on the 21st of April 2020 (Lionel Sujay Vailshery, 2024).

What about me?

Zoom application had a significant effect on my education and life. At the end of year 2021, I was suffering from Pilonidal Sinus. Suddenly my Doctor suggested me surgery because, if it was not treated on time, then it could be a serious matter. In that year, I was pursuing my senior secondary education in India. After 3-4 months my final exams for senior secondary were coming. But the wound, after the surgery, took 2 months to recover. Moreover, the Doctor advised me to take the bedrest for 2 months. However, it was very difficult for me to study without going to school. But the Zoom application helped me a lot in that situation. I requested my teachers and tutors to conduct virtual classes for me as I described my situation and agreed to do that.

Then I was taking my lessons by sitting on my bed. In this way, I was able to cover my all syllabus and in this way, I did preparation for my exams. Eventually, my exams came and with the help of the Zoom application, I was able to perform well in my exams and I got 94.6% overall in my senior secondary education. that's why I am here, in Sheridan, because of my good marks. Overall, the Zoom application had affected me positively.
