My name is Montse. I'm 42 years old. I'm the English teacher in Miquel Marti i Pol school. Our school is in Viladecans. It is a town near Barcelona. 

My school is big. There are a lot of classes. My favourite class is the New York class. I'm always there.

We also have a big playground and a big gym with a theatre stage where we can watch theatre plays in English.

INTRODUCTION TO THE SCHOOL

Our school is Miquel Martí i Pol. It is big and beautiful.The number of the students is 475 approximately. The school has two buildings. We are in the 6th grade. The school is 19 years old. We have 3 floors in the school. We have different facilitiesm such as the smart classroom, the coworking, the gym, etc. The school is in a small town called Viladecans. It is near the mountains. There are a lot of parks. There is a mountain called Sant Ramon, and Viladecans also has a beach.  

FIRST FLOOR

Library

On the first floor, we can find the library, the dining room, the caretaker’s office, and the headteacher’s office.The dining room is very big. There are a lot of tables and chairs, and the kitchen is inside. In the library, there are lots of books, chairs, a digital board (PDI), and two bathrooms—one for boys and one for girls. The library is very spacious. The caretaker’s room is small. The caretakers are José and Maite. In the room, there is a printer and many plants. We also find materials like paper. The headteacher’s office is big. There is a table and two chairs: one for the headteacher and one for the visitor. There is also a computer and a decorative plant. Finally, the director’s office is medium-sized. It has a small bookcase, a piece of furniture, and another bookcase.

SECOND FLOOR: GYM AND PLAYGROUND

On the second floor, there are classrooms for first, second, and third grade. In the classrooms, there is a blackboard, a cupboard, tables, and chairs.

In the gym and the playground, students do P.E. There is also an art classroom, a playroom, and more classrooms. In the gym, there are different sport equipment, lots of space, mats. Sometimes we play or perform theatre plays. In the playground, students play games like football, dodgeball, handball, and more. There is also an area for table tennis and a rock climbing wall. In the  area, there are picnic tables and benches where students can rest or talk. Next to the playground we have a small garden. 

I'm a garden. I have lemons, lettuces, broccolis...

THIRD FLOOR AND THE BUILDING FOR 3,4, and 5 YEAR OLD STUDENTS.

    On the third floor, there are the fourth, fifth and sixth grade classrooms. In these rooms there are chairs, tables, a TV and a computer. 

    In the building for the youngest students, there are many facilities too. In the classroom they  have a library. Their favourite books are of animals. The classrooms have tables, a bathroom, chairs and a board. One class of the youngest area is the maths classroom.I n this class the tables and the chairs are very small. In this classroom the students practice the maths in a fun way.

     On this same floor there is the sensory room.In this classroom there is a ball pool, a lot of toys and fun activities to do.In this class always there are children playing with different textures and toys. In the psychomotricity room there are cushions for children to play and also have a trampoline and mats and children sometimes sleep there. Finally, when you go to the teachers' room you can see a very big table, the teachers also do a lot of crafts.

A day in our school

The lesson starts at 9 o'clock. The first thing we do is “Bon dia, llegim?”, where we read a short part of a book when the teacher arrives. After this activity, we begin our lessons. The lesson usually finishes at 10:00, except on music days, when it ends at 10:30. Then, the next lesson begins.

After the break, we have another lesson until lunchtime at midday. At 15:00, we return to school. The afternoon lessons start at 15:00 and finish at 16:30.

And that’s a typical day at our school.

We are two teachers from Greece. I'm an English teacher and my name is Foteini, and this is Rena, the ICT teacher. We work in the 10th Primary School of Kalamaria in Thessaloniki. Our school is a relatively big school full of 350 happy students and creative ideas!

In our school, we love learning English and using computers. Our students enjoy playing in the school yard and doing fun projects together, like this eTwinning activity!
