COOPERATIVE LEARNING

In cooperative learning (CL), a small group of students is in charge of both their own and the collective learning of the team. CL is a student-centered, instructor-facilitated instructional method.

Example: Organize games that require students to work together, such as relay races, team tag, or cooperative ball games like basketball or volleyball.

Learning Centers

Learning centers are designated areas within the classroom or physical space where students engage in specific tasks or activities that target different learning objectives or skills.

Example:

Hands on Learning

Hands-on learning, also known as experiential learning, involves engaging students in direct, active experiences that require them to manipulate materials, experiment, and participate in physical activities.

Example: The teacher can set up obstacle courses that require students to navigate through different physical challenges, promoting agility, balance, and coordination.

Student Goal Setting

Student goal setting is a teaching strategy where students set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals related to their learning and development. This approach encourages students to take ownership of their progress, enhances motivation, and provides a clear framework for achieving desired outcomes.

Example:
First educate students on what SMART goals are and why setting goals is important. A visual chart representing students' progress on their achievements is a positive visual way to encourage students to set and stick to goals.

Modeling

Modeling is a teaching strategy where the instructor demonstrates a task, skill, or behavior for students to observe and imitate. This approach helps students understand what is expected and provides a clear example to follow.
