Over the next few days, Isabella tried her hardest to finish her homework, but she always found herself getting distracted.

I know I need to be focusing, but any time I start to lose interest it feels like I'm suddenly doing something else.

In class, Isabella is called on while her eyes are mainly focused on the paper on her desk. Of which she is drawing on.

When turning in more incomplete homework, Isabella is confronted by her teacher.

Isabella, you need to finish your homework before you even think about drawing in the margins.

I'm going to start deducting further points when you draw on your homework.

After learning that she would be penalized for it, Isabella stopped drawing on her homework. However, her homework was even more unfinished.

Now whenever I look at my homework, I feel frustrated. I wish I could just finish my work. It would finally make my parents happy with me.

Soon came parent-teacher conferences.

I've noticed some concerning behavior with Isabella. She turns in incomplete work, has irregular spans of attention on different subjects, and struggles with self-motivation. I think it would be beneficial to think about seeking a specialist.

Seems like Izzy has ADHD or ADD. We can go over some possible treatments such as therapy or medication. I recommend we try behavioral therapy first.

Sure did! I actually finished! I managed to finish, but I'm mostly hoping I got everything correct!
