The Talking Tree

Once upon a time, there was a young mango tree that bore the sweetest and hardest mangoes that you would ever taste. It stood tall between two beautiful orange and red fenceless houses on Durban Street. In the orange house, a little girl with short, curly brown hair, lovely chocolate brown eyes and a luxurious smile named Jestine lived. She was a smart eight-year-old who's favorite colour was the yellow of a mango. She went every majestical mango season and picked juicy mangoes from the heavy-laden branches. Little did she know that the tree could talk in *fluent English.
One glorious Saturday morning when she was picking mangoes, and decided to pretend the tree was a person. She played school with the tree.
*fluent - means clearly
She said, "I am the teacher, you are the student, what is two plus two?" "Two plus two is four", the tree said. The girl exclaimed,
"You can talk?"
"Yes, I only talk to children who play with me."
"Do you want to be friends with me? ", the little, yellow dressed girl asked.
The tree screamed, "Yes!" From that day forward they became friends. When mango season came the tree would save the sweetest and hardest mangoes for the little girl. The tree would lower its laden branches with mangoes so it would not fall onto the hard earth for his friend Jestine. The mango tree loved talking with her more than anything and so did Jestine.
On a cool, Thursday afternoon, the tree told her how he came to be. He began, "Once upon a time a farmer lived here, he cared for me and his farm for many years until he was kicked out by the president, a plougher came and ploughed everything.
Then a woodcutter came and tried to cut me, but his saw broke, so he called a muscular man named James to help him, but my wood was too strong, so they decided to leave me alone, and I'm standing to this day.
Wow! that is a sad story with a happy ending, why was the farmer kicked out by the president?". The tree said, "He got kicked out because they wanted to build a house, but they didn’t get to build the house because of me." The girl was amazed; she loved the story.
The following day she layed out a scrumptious picnic and spent the day under the tree. She climbed the tree and had a discussion with it. She said with hope in her voice, "My birthday is next Monday, and I was thinking of celebrating it here, do you mind?" The tree replied with excitement, "No, I don't mind." So Monday, Jestine and her beautiful mum presented an awesome mango picnic party under the tree.
There were decorations everywhere, some delicious snacks to be eaten and lots of games, like shout out and taboo. She invited four of her friends to celebrate with her, their names were Lila, Bettie, Jo and Kiley. Jestine had a grand time with the tree and her friends. Jasmine shared that she will be looking forward to the next mango season, where she will be able to talk to tree again.
Magical Roller Skates
Once upon a time, there was a little girl with dark brown skin and short curly hair, hazelnut eyes and a desire for roller skates named Jasmine Persaud. She always dreamt of having a roller skate for as long as she can remember. All her friends and her mother had a pair.
On her eighth birthday her mother surprised her with her own roller skates. She was as excited as popcorn on a hot pan to try out the roller skates. Little by little she learned to roller skate and then she reached a state where she roller skated to school with her mother and friends.
One day, when she was roller skating to school, she fell very hard on the concrete and hurt herself seriously. Her friends laughed and roller skated away except her best friend Sugar plum. She helped Jasmine to her feet and skated with her the rest of the way.
When she arrived at school her friends called her a crybaby and so on, but she told them in anger, "You are fake friends! I will not be friends with you!". After she said this, they too felt sad and cried. Realizing their mistake, they apologized for 1 minute and she accepted their apologies.
One day when she was roller skating to school with her friends she tripped. She didn’t fall to the ground, but she was lifted up by her roller skates and floated a little above ground. She and her friends were surprised and Jasmine promised she would interrogate her mother that afternoon.

After school Jasmine raced home and asked her mom if she was a fairy. Her mum said yes and shared with her that she placed a protective spell on the roller skates for her so she would never fall again.
Magical Blender

In a far away land in Essequibo, there lived a generous woman named Rosetta Charper, she lived in a town named Sapphire. It was called Sapphire because the mining industries found a lot of sapphires, the town was known for its sapphires. Rosetta owned a little cream house and a vegetable garden. She had beautiful green eyes, blonde hair and light chocolate complexion. On her 32nd birthday she received a lovely, blue blender. She decided to make some fresh cherry juice, so she placed fruits
in the blender, and it started blending
without a touch of a button. She was
very surprised.
The next day she went to her mom and asked her mom if her blender was magical, her mom said," yes Rosetta." She journeyed home with happiness that she received such a special gift. There was a myth that if you had a magical blender, you would have good luck! On her way home she saw a lady drop her bag of folders. Rosetta helped her place the folders in the bag because she was helpful and she continued her journey through the town to her home.
The next day she dropped an egg and she thought it was bad luck. Rosetta went back to her mother’s house and asked if it was true, if you owned a magical blender, you would have good luck. Her mom said, 'No, it brought you bad luck.' She asked,
'What would bring good luck? 'Her mother answered, 'A magical knife would bring you good luck.' She went on through the town to her friend’s house and all the way she wondered if what her mom just told her was true.
