Hardworking teachers and their students did many tasks in order to improve different students' skills and their eating habits.

At the beginning of the school year in our country I have thought of starting a project about healthy eating habits because, through years, I have noticed that our students are very picky when it comes to food. When there is a vegetable dish or some stew in the school canteen, most of the students skip that meal. When asking them what they like to eat ,I got similar answers from most of them : fast food!
There are many vegetables or dishes they didn't even want to try or they didn't know about!
That is why the idea of project like this seemed good. I gathered a small group of only 11 students who weren't busy with their school schedule and wanted to cooperate and this is where our story began.

The main aims of this project were to develop children's healthy eating habits and show that food can be both healthy and tasty, to provide pupils with an opportunity to explore different cultures, to develop their culinary skills and improve their English language skills and also to encourage pupils to use English in a creative way.
Twinspace was organized by months, and each Page/Month had different tasks. Work process was also uploaded on Twinspace so that all collaborators can plan their activities.
We started by getting to know each other, partners showed where they came from, their schools and students wrote something about themselves. All the following tasks included something related to healthy food. For example, healthy Christmas food, healthy pizza, and students learned about Superfoods. In blindfolded food tasting activity, students tried some food that usually, if they weren't blindfolded, they wouldn't. There was also a lot of cooking involved, we cooked some dishes st school, but students also prepared other partners traditional dishes at home.
It is hard to say that this project changed their eating habits, but they tried and learned something new and got the chance to see that food can be both healthy and tasty.
Students and the teachers had a chance to improve their digital skills. In this project we used tools like Canva, Padlet, Wakelet, Powerpoint, Maphub, Animated drawings.
Youtube was used to upload videos, Google forms as a survey tool. Twinspace chat was used a bit to communicate, but for that means, a Whatsapp group was created.
A few online meetings were held, via Google meet and Twinspace platform.
It is also important to emphasize that SEN students from Slovakia and Greece participated in this project so we celabrated the World Autism Awareness Day in their honor. A video about how Autistic children function was showed to students and then we held a workshop where the students made a puzzle. Since there is one autistic student at our school, all the teachers and students wore blue on that day.
At the beginning of the project, all the teachers gathered signed parental consents so that the students photos and videos could be published on Twinspace.
At the end of the project, dissemination was held online and we also made a poster that we showed on our School Day in May.
As a founder and a collaborator in this project, I am really happy that I had the chance to collaborate with a hardworking, responsible and reliable group of teachers and their students.

Thank you all very much! It has been a pleasure!

Our project ''Healthy Food Around the World: Healthy and Tasty'' is incredible experience. Nowadays, fast food has become a threat. It contains multiple chemicals and synthetic ingredients. These causes type 2 diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure. So healthy food has become important. Because it provides nutrients for our body and helps preventing diseases such as diabetes. Therefore, we have very big reponsibilitis. Thanks to this project, my students have researched and learned different healthy food recipes and cuisine from other countries.
They have learned by practicing. So my students have adopted these healthy recipes to their lives easily. They have understood that healthy foods are as delicious as fast food and junk food. And also meeting friends from different countries was unforgettable experience for them.

"Healthy Food Around the World: Healthy and Tasty"
The "Healthy Food Around the World: Healthy and Tasty" project has been an invaluable experience, fostering intercultural understanding and the acquisition of new, healthy eating habits. By collaborating with schools from various countries, we have had the unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and insights on global food cultures, all while emphasizing the importance of maintaining a balanced diet. This intercultural dialogue has enriched our perspectives on food, highlighting the diverse ways in which different cultures approach health and nutrition.
Through this project, we have not only learned to appreciate the variety of culinary traditions around the world but also adopted healthier eating habits in our daily lives. The exchange of recipes and ideas has provided us with the tools to make more informed choices when it comes to nutrition.
Furthermore, the project has allowed us to expand our vocabulary in both the culinary and cultural realms. We’ve gained a deeper understanding of food-related terminology from different languages and have developed a broader appreciation for the cultural significance of food in various societies.
A particularly significant moment in the project was our participation in World Autism Awareness Day. Although it was a new topic for many of us, it became clear how essential it is to recognize and respect different perspectives. We learned that, just as there are many ways to approach food and health, there are also diverse ways of experiencing and understanding the world. This experience taught us the importance of empathy, acceptance, and celebrating our differences.
In conclusion, "Healthy Food Around the World: Healthy and Tasty" has not only brought us closer to other cultures but has also empowered us to make healthier, more conscious decisions in our diets. This project has been a step forward in promoting global well-being, fostering respect for cultural diversity, and building a more empathetic and inclusive community.

We participated in the project with great enthusiasm and willingness, and we truly enjoyed the activities we carried out as part of the project. We adopted healthy eating habits and discovered the cuisine and food products of different countries through the use of digital tools and English as a means of communication.
We successfully prepared both healthy and traditional Greek recipes, as well as recipes from other countries, inspiring the whole school—not just the participants in the program—to get involved. Through the blindfold tasting challenge, we tried foods we had never tasted before, and some of them became part of our regular diet.
Through various activities (posters, presentations, videos), we explored the culture, food preferences, and cuisines of other countries. We were especially intrigued by the presentations of our partners' cities and their schools.
Additionally, through online research, we discovered some lesser-known facts about the products our country produces, which we presented to our partners using Canva. We created a fun quiz at the end to check what our partners had learned about us, and we also answered their quizzes.

We improved our digital skills by using new tools such as Canva, StoryJumper, Genially, the eTwinning forum, Wakelet, Padlet, and Sketch.metademolab. We made a strong effort to learn English vocabulary, especially related to food and nutrition. During our meetings with our partners, we worked hard to learn English expressions to better communicate with them.
With the support of our teachers, we collaborated with peers from different countries, exchanged ideas, created interactive content, and developed our digital, communication, and teamwork skills. Throughout the project, we felt like equal partners and participated in all activities with joy, enthusiasm, and a deep curiosity about the culture and traditions of our fellow participants.
We truly felt included and heard. The experience was transformative in strengthening our sense of belonging and our self-confidence.

The project "Healthy Food Around the World: Healthy and Tasty" has been an incredibly valuable experience, promoting intercultural exchange and encouraging the development of healthier eating habits.
Working alongside schools from different countries offered us a special chance to share knowledge and perspectives on global food traditions, while also stressing the importance of a balanced diet. This intercultural communication has broadened our understanding of other cultures' approach to nutrition and related food choices.
Through our participation, we not only deepened our appreciation for the world's diverse culinary traditions but also made positive changes in our everyday eating habits.
Throughout the project the students engaged in various tasks that they really enjoyed.
For example, they were given the chance to present both their city and their school and get to know about the cities and schools of the other participating countries. Also, with the use of certain online tools they created animated superfoods as well as quizzes.
Moreover, they created weekly menus and they presented recipes from their own country as well as tried recipes from other partners’ countries.
What they liked the most was, in fact, the online meetings where they could actually meet the students from the other countries.
All in all, it was a unique experience for them.
