
01 Cardiovascular Unit
Parts of the Heart and Their Functions.
1. Right Atrium. The right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from the body through the superior and inferior vena cava.
2.Left Atrium, the left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs through the pulmonary veins.
3. Right Ventricle, the right ventricle pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs through the pulmonary artery.
4. Left Ventricle the left ventricle pumps oxygenated blood to the rest of the body through the aorta.
5. Tricuspid Valve, the tricuspid valve prevents backflow of blood from the right ventricle to the right atrium.
02 Neurologic Unit
1. The patient was brought to the ER due to shortness of breath and increased sputum production.
2.Her medical history included a cerebrovascular accident with left hemiplegia and hypertension.
3. ABG showed hypoxic respiratory failure, so intubation was performed immediately.
4. She was in a bedridden status with a Foley catheter and a nasogastric tube inserted.
5. The brain CT revealed a left temporal lobe subdural hemorrhage after the patient fell at the nursing home.
03 Gastrointestinal Unit.
1. Common symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases include pyrosis (heartburn), epigastric pain, and watery diarrhea.
2. Physical examination revealed ascites and high ammonia levels, suggesting possible hepatic encephalopathy.
3. Patients with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) should avoid irritating foods and not lie down immediately after eating.
4. Treatments such as antiemetics, proton pump inhibitors (PPI), and blood transfusions were used depending on the case.
5. The report describes a case of diffused abdominal pain, without fever or vomiting, with findings of mural thickening in the small intestine.A
04 Renal unit
1. The doctor suggested that the patient begin renal replacement therapy as soon as possible.
2.Despite her worries, Ms. Wang agreed to undergo the AVF operation after discussing it with her family.
3.Her symptoms fatigue, decreased urine output, and weight loss indicated the progression of chronic kidney disease.
4. With proper education and support, the patient accepted the need for hemodialysis.
5. The nurse gently explained that dialysis would help remove toxins from her body and improve her condition.
