It was a sunny Saturday morning in Malibu, and Barbie Roberts was brainstorming ideas for a fun day with her sisters. She sat at the kitchen table, jotting notes into her adventure planner.

"Hey Barbie," Stacie called, dribbling a basketball into the living room, "What’s today’s plan? Something exciting, I hope!"

Before Barbie could answer, a loud knock came at the front door. When she opened it, there stood the friendliest, strangest visitor they’d ever seen—A Monster.

"Hi! I’m A Monster," he announced cheerfully. "I do all kinds of things that start with A—like adventuring, acting, and… archery!"

Chelsea’s eyes sparkled. "Did you say archery?!"

A Monster nodded, pulling a small but beautifully crafted bow from behind his back. "Absolutely! And I was hoping to invite you all to an archery challenge at the Adventure Acres field!"

The Journey to Adventure Acres

Ken Carson, who had been helping George fix the garden fence, overheard the excitement. "Count me in," Ken said. "Archery takes skill and patience—it’ll be fun to learn together!"

Barbie gathered Skipper, Stacie, and Chelsea, and soon the Roberts family—with Ken and A Monster—were headed to Adventure Acres. A Monster hopped along happily, humming a tune that started with “A” sounds: "Aim, arrow, adventure awaits!"

The Archery Challenge

Adventure Acres was a colorful field with hay bales, wooden targets painted like rainbows, and a small shaded picnic area. A Monster handed out bows and arrows to everyone, carefully showing them how to stand, aim, and release.

"Archery is about alignment, accuracy, and attitude," A Monster explained, pointing at the three large “A” letters painted on a banner above the targets.

Stacie was first to try. Her sporty confidence kicked in, and she hit near the center of the target.

Skipper, more used to typing than aiming, giggled when her arrow landed in the grass a few feet away.

Chelsea, determined, pulled her bow back and—thwip!—her arrow hit the target’s outer ring.
