It was a fabulous Friday morning in Malibu, and Barbie Roberts was humming a cheerful tune in her sunny kitchen. She had just finished flipping fluffy pancakes for breakfast when she heard a friendly knock at the door.

When she opened it, there stood a sight so fantastic it almost didn’t seem real—a bright red, letter “F”-shaped creature with big, happy eyes, leafy green hair tufts, and a smile as wide as the beach.

“Hi! I’m F Monster!” he said in a voice full of fun and friendliness. “I do things that start with F. I heard you could use a friend for the day!”

Barbie grinned. “That’s… fascinating!”

Before long, Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea, and even Ken gathered around to meet the new visitor.

“What does ‘doing things that start with F’ mean?” Chelsea asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

F Monster tapped his chin. “Well… I can fish, fold, fetch, flip, float, fly kites, and—oh!—find fabulous things!”

“That’s fantastic,” said Skipper. “And speaking of fishing—Dad’s been saying we should have a family fishing trip.”

“Fishing?!” F Monster’s eyes lit up. “My favorite!”

The Fishing Plan

George and Margaret Roberts quickly got on board with the idea. Soon, everyone was loading a picnic basket full of food—fresh fruit, French bread, fudge brownies, and fizzy fruit punch—onto the family’s little boat, the Flipper.

“Everyone ready?” George called out.

“Ready!” the group cheered, and F Monster added an enthusiastic, “FULL speed ahead!”

Out on the Water

The boat floated gently over the glistening waves. F Monster leaned over the side, fascinated by the fish darting below. “Look at those fins!” he exclaimed. “Fast and fancy!”
