K Monster and the Kite

It was a breezy Saturday afternoon in Malibu. The Roberts’ backyard was alive with laughter — Barbie had invited all her sisters and her friend Ken over for a picnic. Stacie was playing catch, Skipper was fiddling with her portable speaker, Chelsea was drawing in her sketchbook, and George and Margaret were setting out sandwiches and lemonade.
Suddenly, a whooshing sound came from beyond the garden gate. The sound grew closer, followed by the unmistakable whirrr of a spinning beanie propeller. Everyone turned just in time to see a purple figure bounce into view.
“K Monster!” Chelsea shouted, leaping to her feet.
“Hi, friends!” the adorable, letter-shaped monster said, his eyes sparkling. “I was just kicking a ball down the street when I saw your picnic — and I knew I had to stop by. I love things that start with K!”
“Perfect timing,” Barbie said, smiling. “We were just looking for something fun to do after lunch.”
“Well…” K Monster tapped his chin dramatically. “How about we kite fly? The wind is perfect today, and ‘kite’ starts with K!”
Chelsea gasped. “Yes! Let’s make a giant kite and fly it together!”
The Kite Plan
Skipper grabbed her tablet to look up designs, Stacie offered to fetch sticks from the shed, and Barbie led K Monster to the arts-and-crafts box.
They gathered:
Kite string
Khaki-colored cloth
Kraft paper for decorations
And some sparkly Kaleidoscope-patterned ribbons for the tail.
K Monster grinned. “See? Everything starts with K! Well… except maybe the glue, but we’ll call it Kool Glue.”
Building the Kite
Everyone pitched in:
K Monster knotted the sticks together for the frame.
Chelsea painted a giant smiling letter K in the middle.
Stacie tied on the ribbons in neat knots.
Skipper made sure the frame was strong enough to handle the gusty wind.

"K Monster and the Kite"
Suddenly, the garden gate swung open, and in bounced K Monster — a purple, letter-shaped friend with a spinning beanie hat.
“Hi, everyone!” K Monster grinned. “I was just kicking a ball when I thought… why not stop by? I love things that start with K!”
Barbie smiled. “Perfect timing. We were just looking for something fun to do.”
K Monster’s eyes sparkled. “Then let’s fly a kite! The wind is perfect today.”
