It was a warm, sunny afternoon in Malibu. Barbie Roberts sat on the porch swing, sketching new designs in her fashion notebook. Ken was watering the garden, while Chelsea chased a butterfly across the yard.

Skipper was inside editing a new vlog, and Stacie was practicing soccer drills in the driveway. Everything was perfectly normal—until a strange plop sound came from the front lawn.

When Barbie looked up, there it was:

A large, sparkling, cardboard box with the letter “X” painted all over it in glitter. The lid popped open, and out leapt the most unusual creature Barbie had ever seen. “Hiya! I’m X Monster!” the blue, X-shaped figure said, waving cheerfully. Her ponytails bounced as she hopped in place. “I only do things that start with X, and today, I’m here for an exciting X-treme adventure!”

Barbie grinned. “Welcome to Malibu! I’m Barbie, and this is my family and friends.”

X Monster twirled in the grass. “Wonderful! I brought my Xylophone so we can play music while we explore. But first—inside this box is a magical X-traordinary surprise.”

Chelsea’s eyes sparkled. “Can we open it now?”

X Monster shook her head. “Not yet! To unlock it, we have to complete three ‘X’ challenges.”

Challenge One: The Xylophone Song

X Monster placed a bright, rainbow xylophone in front of them. “We have to play the X Song perfectly.” Barbie took the mallets, and with Skipper’s help, they played the tune—high notes, low notes, and a funny “X-treme” ending that made X Monster clap wildly. “X-ceptional!” X Monster cheered. “One challenge down!”
