Prolog
I don't know how it happened. I was just sitting in the corner of a big rocket that looked really cool on the outside, so I wanted to take a look at the inside. Well, apparently, the ship I climbed into was going to blast off in twenty minutes. It will be fine, I told myself. You can look for five minutes, and then you can go. I was looking at all the buttons and suites, and I lost track of time, so yeah, now I'm going to the moon. Yay. All the big adult people are buckling there seatbelts. I don't have one. Oh well. They do this really loud count down, and I'm blasting into space. It feels like my skin is going to fly off of my bones and run away. We're going so fast! Then, I think my head thinks this is all I can take, so I black out.
Chapter 1
Warning! Warning! Human vestal approaching! The warning systems blare. Or squeak. the mic hasn't been changed for a while, so it doesn't really sound like talking.
"Invisible mode on!" An alien called.
"Copy!" Another answered.
I don't know if you've guessed yet, but I live with aliens. The first things you need to know about us is 1) We speak Alienese. It sounds like burping, growling, snarling, and anything but English. 2) Do not call us anything mean or weird, or you'll end up on the wrong side of an alien blaster. And last, I was adopted by aliens when I was young. I don't remember anything about it, so don't
ask. Also, don't treat me weird because I was adopted by aliens, or you'll be on the wrong end of my blaster.
It's been a while sense a human vestal has gone by. I rush to a window and peer out. This ship looks like a dart, and it looks like one that has humans in it.
"Princess?" My alien butler, Blorg, asks. "Your father and mother want to see you."
I turn around and address Blorg.
"OK. Let's go." I say.
I follow Blog down a well lighted hallway, full of guards with blasters. Mom and Dad like good protection. Blorg opens a heavy metal door at the end of the hallway. I walk in and he gently closes the door behind him and bows.
"Hey, mom, dad." I say nodding at them. It's always good to address aliens when your talking to them.
Mom smiles her pointed teeth grin, and so does my dad.
"It seems just yesterday you were a cub." She says, beckoning me to come and sit with her on the throne. I walk up and sit with them and mom starts combing my hair.
"And you even combed it yourself! What a good little girl." Dad says, pecking me on the cheek.
"Since your birthday is coming soon," Mom says, finessing with my hair and looking at me. "So, me and your father want to get you your own throne."
I jump up and clap excitedly, hugging both of them. I'm turning fourteen, and that's when you can join your mother and father on the throne if your lucky to be bourn into a royal family.
We go to the market and get me a throne. It's a tall chair with gold embroidery and soft yellow fabric. It's perfect. It might be a little big, I'm smaller than most aliens, but other than that, I love it. I ask my guards if they can hold the chair well I'm sitting on it. They say yes, so I climb up on the chair and whole on as the guards lift it. They have a straight face the whole time, even when aliens start cheering and bowing to me. Best day ever.
Chapter 2
I'm woken up by the blasting of the alarms. I sit up in bed as the alarms go off. Probably just a malfunction. I wait for that alarms to stop, but they don't. That's not good. I put on my nightrobe and walk into my mom and dad's room. Their up and talking into their walky-talky's.
"Mom, dad? What's going on?" I ask, rubbing sleep from my eyes.
"There's a human outside the ship." Dad says, rapidly pressing buttons in his laptop. "Change into clothes and meet us in the great hall."
I nod and rush into my room. Wow! A real human outside the ship! I'm so existed I can barley get my clothes on. This has
never happened ever before. At least, when I can remember. I wonder what they will do to it. Maybe they'll blast it, or take it captive and interrogate it. I'm about to find out. I rush into the great hall. It's a gigantic room, with a high ceiling and smooth floors, that can fit thousands of aliens.
"We know this has not happened in a while," Mom yells.
"So what we will do is put up the bounce back field." Dad continues.
What in the sun is the bounce back field? I follow mom and dad to the control unit, dad uses a key I've never seen him use ever before to open a small box on the side of the wall. Inside it has a small red button that says in bold letters: Bounce-Back field. Cool. Dad presses the button and the ship shakes as if it took a lot of effort to put up the field.
