This diary was written a long time ago, when humans and dragons lived in peace together. This book has recently been rediscovered, and Haddie Pearson translated this book for people to be able to read it and better understand. Haddie Pearson also added some pictures to help people imagine scenes and characters better. Fly high in the wings of books, and enjoy reading the diary of a dragon rider.

Day Five of Week Four of Dragon Camp
Today was the worst. I have never been that scared in my whole life. Sure, we won, but my gosh, I was so scared. Anyway, let's get into detail. Thomas and I flew at the dragon and I shot it with Tidepool's blast. Jun said that large dragons have sensitive noses, so we made some stink bombs to throw at it. Jun and Jay throw their stink bombs at the dragon, making it very agitated. Tidepool kept hitting it with her blasts. The dragon thrashed around, its eyes watering from the smell. If the dragon was having that big of a reaction, I'm so glad that Thomas made us wear nose plugs. We kept hitting the dragon with stink bombs and our blasts. The dragon tried to call the other dragons to come and help it, but every time it opened its mouth, we shot a stink bomb in it's mouth. I couldn't help but feel a little bad for the dragon. Finally, the dragon roared and flew up. We moved out of the way as the dragon went spiraling down, drilling its way through the floor. After a while, we couldn't hear or see the alpha anymore. All the dragon's eyes returned to normal, and we cheered and laughed as
Lightning came bounding towards Thomas, knocking him over and drowning him in his licks.

Day six of Week Four
I really hate to admit this but, all today I was bored. I can't believe it. That adventure was the most frightening thing that has ever happened to me. All during training I was bored, all during dragon history and breeding class I was bored, even during breakfast when Pro. Renly tripped and got his food everywhere! I told everyone at lunch and Thomas slapped me on the back (which hurt very bad! Never sitting close to him again!) and said that it was in the Viking blood to want adventure. I hate to admit it, but it's true, that's what almost every Viking parent tells their kids. I used to be scared of dragons, and now I'm longing to go and almost kill myself to go on adventures with them! What is happening to me?!
Day Seven of Week Four
I wasn't bored today. We found another strange thing going on in the dragon lair. We were down training, and then we heard a sound like a dragon roar, then all the tiny dragons, I forget what they're called, but they went crawling towards the sound, which was coming from a small crack in the wall. Pro. Renly said that we should go back up to the camp. Thomas said that we should go follow the dragons to see what that was, but Pro. Renly told him that we need to go up, Thomas agreed, but grumbled all the way back up about how we should go help the dragons and have another adventure. After we got back up, when Pro. Renly was out of earshot, he told us to meet in his cabin and strategize. I told him that I wanted to wait until Pro. Renly went down there and needed help. He glared at me as everyone agreed with me. He grumbled and walked to his cabin. I knew that he wouldn't give up on an adventure that quickly, and late tonight, I saw him sneak out of his cabin towards that dragon lair. In the morning, I'm going to have to tell Pro. Renly that Thomas went to "solve" our problem.
