Grizz woke up early one Saturday morning.  He yawned a big bear yawn and stretched a big bear stretch.  Then he went to the kitchen to eat a big bear breakfast.  

But, when Grizz got to the kitchen, he found the cupboards were bare.  BIG BARE.  He would have to go to the store to get more food.

On his way to town, Grizz saw a sign posted on a tree.

"Fireworks Show Tonight", he read. "Oh, wow! I've never been to a fireworks show. I'm so excited! I'll have to get some supplies for tonight."

Grizz hurried into town to get everything he needed, forgetting about his breakfast.  

His first stop was the fireworks store. He bought a small box of sparklers to share with his friends. 

Three of his friends walked in just as he finished his purchase.

"Hi Peru, hi Namir, and Naomi!" shouted Grizz excitedly.  "I just bought these sparklers, do you want to light them with me now?"

His friends smiled at Grizz's enthusiasm, but said "It's too early, Grizz.  You'll have to wait."

"Oh, Ok. I'll see you later then!" said Grizz as he hurried to the next shop.

Grizz went to the next store to buy a blanket.  The fireworks would be set off near a grassy hill, and he wanted something soft to sit on.

His friends Dayana, Kendrick, Aniya, and Evie had the same idea.  

"Look!" Grizz called out to his friends. "Look at my new blanket! Isn't it the fuzziest, softest blanket ever! Grizz began shaking his blanket out to show everyone.  He was making a bit of a mess.

"Your blanket is pretty", said Evie, "but Grizz, it's not time for that yet. You'll have to wait."

"Ok", said Grizz as he hurried next door to the snack shop. 

"We will need yummy snacks to eat", thought Grizz as he pulled a jar of honey and a bag of chips from the shelf.  In his excitement, he knocked down several bags of chips.

"Grizz, be careful!" called his friends Serenity, Jaliyah, Jordyn, and Nolan.

"Oops! I'm sorry", said Grizz sheepishly as he bent to pick up the fallen chips.  "I'm just so excited about tonight!"

"Grizz, you have to be patient, you have to wait", said Jordyn.

"Ok", said Grizz, but he was already on his way to the next store.  

My friends might want to sit in a chair", thought Grizz. He considered his choices.  "I'll get the shiny silver one right in the center of this stack." Grizz carelessly pulled out the chair, and all the chairs toppled over.  

"Grizz! What are you doing?" exclaimed Leila, Kaliyah, and Christopher.

"Oops", said Grizz, "I was trying to find the best chair for tonight.  Do you want to try it out?"

"No, Grizz", said Leila in exasperation. "It isn't time yet.  You'll have to wait."

"And be more careful", said Kaliyah with a frown.

But Grizz barely heard them; he was already thinking of the next thing to buy.
