What is self-esteem?
Self-esteem is having confidence in your own worth or abilities.
How does self-esteem affect body image?
Having poor body image reflects negative feelings about your appearance. Having a healthy body image reflects positive feelings about your appearance. Self-esteem affects body image because body image is a major component in self-esteem and shows how you view yourself.
How can someone improve their self-esteem?

• When angry, separate yourself from the situation and take time to cool out.
• Attack the problem, not the person. Start with a compliment.
• Communicate your feelings assertively, NOT aggressively. Express them without blaming.
• Focus on the issue, NOT your position about the issue.
• Accept and respect that individual opinions may differ, don’t try to force compliance, work to develop common agreement.

Chapter 3: Sexting
To sext is to send (someone) sexually explicit photographs or messages via cell phone.
Sexting is used as modern-day flirting. Teens usually use sexting to get attention or "hook-up" with others.
Emotionally, sexting can take a toll on a person, especially if it backfires and gets into the wrong hands.
Another emotional catch is that sexting may lead to bullying
Sexting can compromise reputations.
What college reps and employers find online could sway their decision about whether or not the person lands the job or gets accepted into the school of his/her dreams.
In 2012, at least 13 states so far are considering bills or resolutions aimed at "sexting".

Chapter 5: Sexual Harassment Guidelines
Quid Pro Quo Sexual Harassment occurs when an employee gets on the promotion track or even gets to keep his/her job is based on if the employee submitted to or rejected sexual advances or other types of inappropriate sexual comments.
Hostile Environment Sexual Harassment occurs when a co-worker or supervisor in the workplace makes sexual advances or comments to an employee that, while not affecting promotions or the future of the employee's job, makes the working environment of the employee offensive and hostile.
