What is self-esteem?
Self-esteem is how a person feels toward themselves. A person can have high or low self-esteem.

How does self-esteem effect body image?
If you have low self-esteem you will most likely have a lower body image because you value yourself less. You have a negative view of yourself. If you have higher self-esteem you have a better image of your body.

How can someone improve their self-esteem?
Some ways you can improve your self-esteem are:
- use positive thinking
- don't compare yourself to other people
- exercise regularly
- don't put yourself down because of mistakes
- hang out with people who support you

How can someone improve their body image?
To improve your body image you should surround yourself with people who like you for you, and make you feel good. Don't have negative thoughts about your body.

What are the characteristics of healthy relationships?
1. Each person understands they are responsible for their own happiness.
2. No one is trying to be in control.
3. Disagreements are dealt with appropriately.
4. Share your feelings with each other.
5. Understand that you can have different likes and dislikes.

What are the characteristics of unhealthy relationships?
1. You feel threatened.
2. A very controlling or abusive partner.
3. Your partner makes you feel guilty for hanging out with other people.
4. Always doing what one partner wants to do, without considering the others feelings.

An appropriate conflict resolution strategy is talking it out. You should try to come up with a compromise that is beneficial for both people.

What is sexting?
According Wikipedia "sexting is sending and receiving sexually explicit messages through social media."

How is Sexting used?
Sexting is used when people send sexual explicit content to each other over social media, rather than meeting and showing each other.

What are the dangers of sexting?
One of the dangers of sexting is that the other person now has a digital copy of what you sent and could post it anywhere.

What are the consequences of sexting?
- Your pictures could end up on the internet
- You might send things to someone you don't intend to send to.
- You may experience regret later.
- It is also illegal for anyone to have explicit pictures of someone under the age of 18.

Chapter 4 Dating violence
The three types of violence are:
1. Physical
2. Explosive
3. Sexual

What are the cycles of violence and what happens in each stage?
Dating violence is a three stage cycle:
1. Tension-building stage: This is when victim trying to please the abuser.
2. Explosive stage: When the violence happens, by the abuser doing something to the victim.
3. Calm or "honeymoon" stage: The abuser apologizes or promises never to do it again.
This cycle continues to repeat many times!

What are resources to get help?
You can get help by talking to someone you trust or a counselor, doctor, teacher, or social worker. You can also call the abuse hotline in your area.

Chapter 5 Sexual harassment guidelines
Identify the types of sexual harassment?
-Saying unwanted sexual remark to someone.
-Touching someone in a unwanted sexual way.
-Telling crude jokes about a person.
-Hazing.

How can one respond to sexual harassment?
If you are sexual harassed you should be assertive and use refusal skills. Avoid being alone with the person and report it. Tell someone you trust what they are doing.

Consequences of Sexual Harassment?
The consequences of sexual harassment are that you can get fired if you do it at work. You also damage the self-esteem and image of the person who you harass. You could also be arrested for sexually harassing someone.
