George WashingtonGeorge Washington:
He was the president of the U.S. from
April 30th, 1789 to March 3rd,1797.
When he was the president, he first
passed the Federal Judiciary Act to create
the court system. He also put down the
Whiskey Rebellion, which showed the
nation now had an organized, dominating
force. During most of his presidency, he
had to make the decision to pick a side
between France and Britain. He remained
neutral, or being related to neither side.
When he was not in the office, he was
the commander of American army, a
member of Virginia House of Burgesses
and a soldier.


John AdamsJohn Adams was the U.S.
president from 1797 to 1801.
During his presidency, the
biggest event that took place
was the XYZ affair. He sent three
American ministers to talk to
French officials, but he was
outraged when the French
officials asked for $250,000
bribe
in order to meet them. He also passed the Alien and Sedition
Acts, to shut off the immigrants and other opponents who
attacked him through speech, newspapers and etc. Lastly, the
capital of the nation was relocated to Washington D.C., from
Philadelphia during his term.
Out of the office, he was the delegate of Massachusetts at the
Continental Congress and a lawyer.

Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson was the U.S. President
from 1801 to 1809.
During his presidency, he removed the tax
on whiskey, while trying to keep the
government revenues by cutting the army.
He also removed the Alien and Sedition
Acts that weakened the Democratic-
Republicans. He also purchased Louisiana
from France for $15 million, which doubled
the size of the nation.
Before he became the president, he wrote
the Declaration of Independence, was the
American minister to France and the
secretary of States during Washington's
presidency.

James MadisonJames Madison was the 4th president
of the U.S. (1809-1817)
During his presidency the U.S.
declared a war on Britain who
constantly kidnapped the U.S. sailors.
Other major events that took place
during his presidency were:
Star Spangled Banner was written by
Francis Scott Key by 1812.
Indiana became a state in 1816.
Out of the office, he wrote the
Virginia resolution in response to Alien
and Sedition Acts and served as
the Secretary of State.


James Monroe5th president of the U.S.
March 4, 1817 ~ March 3, 1825
One major event that took place was Missouri Compromise 1820.
Other major events that took place during his presidency were the
First Seminole war(1817-1818) and the Monroe Doctrine issued in
1823.
When Monroe wasn't in the office, he was the member of the
Continental Congress and a minister to France.



John Quincy Adams6th president of the U.S.
1825-1829
Major events that took place
during his presidency were the
passing of Tariff of Abominations
and construction of Cumberland
Road. South Carolina claiming
the right to nullify the federal
laws for the first time was
another major event that took
place.
Out of the office, he had
negotiated Adams-Onis treaty,
and served as a Minister to
Prussia during Andrew Jackson's
presidency.



Andrew Jackson7th president of the U.S.
: 1829-1837
During his presidency, he votoed
the charter of the Second bank of
the United States and faced the
inflation, or increase in price and
decrease in the value of currency.
Indian removal act (1830) was also
one of the major events.
Besides being a president, he was
a lawyer, and a senator of the
U.S.


Martin Van Buren8th president of the U.S. 1837-1841
During the time he was in the office, he faced the panic of 1837,
the issue of bordering between
the state of Maine and
Canadian territory, and the Second
Seminole War.
When he was not in the office,
he was a lawyer and a New
York state Senator.


William Henry Harrison
9th president of the U.S.
Term : 1841
He was only in the office for a
month, so he could not accomplish
much.
However, before his presidency,
he grew his reputation as a
military hero from fighting in many
Indian wars.(1781-1798). He was
also a delegate of the Northwest
House of Representatives(1799-
1800), a senator(1825-1828) and
the U.S. minister to
Columbia.(1829)

John Tyler10th president of the U.S.
Term : 1841-1845
During his presidency, he signed
the Webster-Ashburton treaty in
1842 with Britain to settle the border
issue with maine and Canada.
He also signed the Treaty of
Whanghia, which legalized the
trade between China and the
U.S. Lastly , before he left the office,
he signed the Joint Resolution
to allow Texas annexation.
When he was not in the Office, he was the governor of Virginia and
a U.S. senator.


James K. Polk11th president of the U.S.
Term: 1845-1849
During his presidency, he signed the
Oregon treaty with Britain to settle the
border issue between Oregon and
Vancouver. The most
important even that took almost all his
time in the office was the war with
Mexico (1846-1848). The last major
event that took place was the Treaty of
Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848.
Out of the office, he was a member of
house of representatives of Tennessee
and the governor of Tennessee himself.
