To all the aspiring travelers in the world.

Once upon a time there was a curious young dolphin named Persephone. She lived in a small yet beautiful undersea cove that was teeming with every undersea creature imaginable, but that wasn't enough. She wanted to explore and see the world.

Every day Persephone asked her parents if she could explore outside the cove, but every day her parents had the same answer: "No! You're still just a pup and besides, you could get lost, or eaten, or caught in a fisherman's net." So Persephone never got to travel for the longest time.

Finally, on her tenth birthday, her parents finally said "Yes, now that you're old enough, you can travel, as long as you be careful." As if that wasn't exciting enough, her parents made her favorite dinner: Plankton soup with a sea grass cake for dessert

The next day, Persephone packed her journal, camera, and a few books about different languages in a backpack, said goodbye to her parents, and set out to see the world.

First, she swam west into the Pacific ocean until she saw a large boat. The people on board pointed at her, then clapped and cheered as she jumped and flipped and did various acrobatic tricks. Suddenly she saw some flashes of light on the dock. "Humans use cameras, too?" she thought.

The rest of the day Persephone swam and swam until she found a reef near an island full of seals resting on the shores. She tried to say hello in seal, and did so surprisingly well that one seal welcomed her with a necklace of pearls.

Then she swam north to the cold arctic waters rich with plankton, seals, penguins, and orcas. Surprisingly, the orcas were friendly and welcomed her with frozen plankton pops. The penguins also welcomed her with quill pens and a cloak made from their own feathers.

Next stop: off the coast of Japan. Another family of dolphins let her try sushi for the first time. She liked it, but she made her slightly sick to her stomach.(turns out it was the soy sauce, not the sushi)

A few stops later, off the coast of Madagascar, Persephone woke to find lemurs pelting her with fruit! Quickly she swam away until she realized that it was throw-fruit-at-your-friends-day for the lemurs. She responded by bopping fruit back at them with her beak.

After awhile, Persephone found a small opening in a coral reef near Scotland. Curious, she swam inside and found... A creature unlike anything she'd ever seen! "Whazzup?" it said. " My name's Ned, but you may know me as the Loch Ness Monster". "I come here to escape tourists who try to spot me 24/7!"
