Monday Morning, Ms.Perez was very happy walking to school. "An hour early" she said to be ready for school.

As Ms Perez arrived in her classroom, something seemed weird. There was so much wind coming from out side her window.

The classroom furniture was all over the place.

"Oh my" she said, as she seems confused.

Ms.Perez then heard a weird noise outside her class, as confused as she was she went out side to look.

I was a telegraph operator, scientist, and the greatest American inventor that changed your ...life!

I was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio, I was the youngest of 7 children in the family

That's a lot of kids!

My family taught me at home by my mother. And i learned a lot by reading books and doing my own experiments.

When i was a young man, I worked as a telegraph operator.

A what?

What is that?

We had no cell phones back in my time, so we used telegraphs to send messages over long distances.

Look at the board, those are telegraph operators, and an telegraph machine.

I began inventing as soon as i could, i invented the phonograph and the kinetograph.

The phonograph is a device to record sounds

The kinetograph is a movie camera

I became a full time inventor and scientist. You see, I had my own laboratory and a big group of staff to help me

In 1879, My team and I developed the first light bulb that could be used in homes that lasted a long time, not like the other who failed before me

I built the worlds first power station to bring electricity to peoples homes using wires. Because of me people did not have to use gas lamps or candles for light.
