For Amelia Earhart and all adventure seekers.

On a nice summer day of July 1897, baby Amelia Mary Earhart was born to her parents Amy and Edwin Earhart in the suburbs of Atchinson, Kansas. She was a beautiful baby girl with gorgeous gray eyes. They were like wistful clouds.

Two and a half years later, Amelia's sister, Grace Muriel Earhart was born in Kansas City. Due to Amy's grandmother, Amelia Harres, being lonely, Amelia was sent away to live with her grandmother in Atchinson.
Amelia then stayed with her grandmother in Atchison during the school year and her parents and sister during the summer in Kansas City. While she was with her grandmother, Amelia's family visited her multiple times throughout the year.

One time, Amelia went to a local carnival with her family. Her favorite part of the trip was going on the ferris wheel with her father. She had always enjoyed heights and the feeling of being high in the sky.
Growing up, Amelia had never fit the expectations of a female. She enjoyed hands-on activities like horse back riding, hunting, sledding, and exploring the woods. It was frowned upon by her grandmother and father, but her mother encouraged Amelia to do what she wants and pursue her interests.

As a child, Amelia was raised to always help others who are not as fortunate as her. She loved giving back to her community, so she would always give spare necessities to those who need it or toys and presents to orphans.
By the time Amelia was 11, she had moved from Kansas to Iowa because her family was poor and there a job offer there. She had a very hard time leaving her grandmother and friends from Atchinson.
During there stay in Des Moines, they moved very often, upgrading houses with each move. It was very unsettling for the girls with moving constantly but they enjoyed the perks of each move. While in Des Moines, Amelia had seen a plane in person for the first time at a fair. She thought it was boring and moved on.

By the time Amelia was 14, her parents' marriage had started to go down hill. Her father left and came bad with toxic substance issues. Amelia's beloved grandmother had also been struggling with health issues and ultimately died which was devastating for the family. By the time Amelia graduated high school, she lived in multiple homes, had an uncollected father, and her family was incredibly poor.

Luckily by the time Amelia went to a finishing school, her father collected himself and they had received inheritance from Amy's grandparents. They were all happy with their lives.

During wartime, Amelia went visit to her sister in Torono for Christmas. She decided that she wanted to give back to her community and became a voluntary nurse. Then the Spanish flu appeared and Amelia had gotten very sick. While recovering, she took a class in ambulance driving where she learned about engines.

By 1920, Amelia's father had overcome his addiction issues, and her family wanted the kids to come live with them in Los Angles, California, the Golden State.

During Amelia's time in California, she became amazed by flying. She watched hundreds of people try crazy flying performances such as loops, stunts, and even flying to deliver mail. Even though it was dangerous, Amelia accepted the challenge.
On a winter day in December, Amelia and her father visited an airfield and Amelia experienced her first ever plane ride from air racer Frank Hawks. The whole 10 minute ride excited Amelia and she became determined to learn how to fly.

After her first flying experience, Amelia quickly started looking for a flying instructor. She looked for a female instructor because a male instructor would have thought less of her because she is female. She soon found Anita Smook. Amelia's first words to her were "I want to fly. Will you teach me?" They then planned Amelia's first lesson.
Anita and Amelia bonded very quickly and found that they had many things in common. They had their lessons with Neeta's plane "The Canuck". Eventually Anita came to dislike Amelia because she was jealous of her skill and ability to learn quickly. Though their friendship did not last, she will always be Amelia's first instructor.

On her 24th birthday, Amelia went all in and bought her first plane. It was a used Kinner Airster, a very expensive plane for beginners. Amelia fell in love with the plane as soon as she saw it and nicknamed it "The Canary."

Amelia and The Canary went on to do amazing things. In 1922, she set a world record for the first female pilot to fly 14,000 feet above the ground. The following year, Amelia had become the 16th woman in the U.S. to receive a pilot's license.
