Module 5 Teaching from the Lesson Plan

Exit Tickets -

Definition- using questions, comments, or small quizzes at the end of a lesson to see what your kiddos retained from the day.

How it can be used - I can use this to encourage my students to remember what they are learning in class. If we were to do a lesson about the health of the foods and drinks most kids consume, then an exit ticket could ask a question such as “ what is a drink we talked about with high calories” as well as “ are there any other drinks / foods you think we need to go over next class?
Reflection-

Definition- serious thought or consideration. Thinking about something for an extended period of time and either forming goals off of it, pondering the thought, or taking a new action as a result.

How it can be used- In physical education, I would use reflection as a way to assess my students knowledge. I would talk to them individually and have them reflect on their behavior, the lesson, or something that was talked about and they need to take a new approach to the event. If a student was not meeting the running time, then I would talk to them and have them reflect on what they can improve on to get their time up and then come up with a goal together.
Agenda-

Description- Having a list of activities that are displayed on the board or in the gym where the students are able to see what’s expected from them during that class time.

How it can be used- In the gym, I will have their warm ups, their skill of the day/ lesson they are going to be doing, and then their closing. By doing this, it can provide a sense of ownership and knowledge to the students who like to know what the next game will be. it can also help the students who are “at risk” by showing them what’s expected from them that day.
Conclusion-

Description - an ending activity that can further enhance the students knowledge about the lesson.

How it can be used- I can use the conclusion to go over the activity and give them “homework”. If the students are learning how to skip rope, then having the best jump ropper between the pairs, come to the front of the stage and see who can go the longest to end the lesson off. Having them be encouraged to buy a jump rope and pratice at home with friends can be “homework” for the students.
Field experience-
Definition- getting hands on experience with the field you are studying from the classroom.
