sexting

What is sexting?
Send (someone) sexually explicit photographs or messages via cell phone.
What is sexting used?
Sexting is used to get the attention of another person you are sexual attracted to, to make them feel the same way.
What are the dangers of sexting?
Emotionally sexting can take a toll on a person, especially if it backfires and gets into the wrong hands. Teens have a unique ability to feel like they're invincible. So, even though they may know that sexting is wrong, they don't think they're going to get caught.
What are to consequences?
Also, sexting can compromise reputations. Not just social reputations but digital reputations can take a hit. Once a photo is out, there's no way of knowing how many people have saved it, tagged it, shared it, etc. Unfortunately the photo could re-surface years after it was taken and posted. Plus, more and more college reps and prospective employers are seeking information about candidates and they're doing this online. What they find online could sway their decision about whether or not the person lands the job or gets accepted into the school of his/her dreams.
Chapter 3- Dating violence

Different types of violent relationships
1.) verbal abuse is the excessive use of language to undermine someone's dignity and security through insults or humiliation, in a sudden or repeated manner.
2.)
Physical- From simple assault to homicide, including armed robbery, physical violence can take many forms when an aggressor intentionally resorts to violence to intimidate or restrain a victim. Suicide also falls into that category.
3.) Emotional- a person subjecting, or exposing, another person to behavior that may result in psychological trauma, including anxiety, chronic depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder.
Cycle of violence and each stage
The cycle of abuse is a social cycle theory developed in 1979 by Lenore E. Walker to explain patterns of behavior in an abusive relationship.
1.) Tension building
2.) acute violence
3.)Reconciliation/ honeymoon
4.) calm
Getting help
If you are in a violent relationship, you have to get out, you can talk to anyone you trust such as a parent, sibling, trusting friend, teacher. if you feel like you can not talk to any of those people, you can talk to a hotline that helps deal with those situations.
Personal.
I had a friend that was in a bad relationship, his girlfriend would always say mean and rude things, him being the nice person he was did nothing about it and just took it, after a while she would push him around and call him names. after a while he could not take it anymore and left the relationship.
Chapter 4-sexual harassment
How to respond to sexual harassment?
1.) talk to the person directly
2.) Tell someone
3.)DON'T JUST BRUSH IT OFF
Types
There are two types of sexual harassment recognized by federal law: quid pro quo and hostile work environment. Quid pro quo refers to situations where employment decisions such as hiring, firing, or promotions are contingent upon the employee providing sexual favors.
For Victims. Victims of sexual harassment can suffer significant psychological effects, including anxiety, depression, headaches, sleep disorders, weight loss or gain, nausea, lowered self-esteem and sexual dysfunction.
